All storytelling is collaborative. Sure, I can write a story but it does nothing without the reader. I see myself as the author telling the story with the reader, not to them.
I love books. I remember my mother reading books throughout my childhood and loved being read stories. As I grew up I knew that I was going to write books and when I learned about comics I knew that I wanted to do comics.
Books will always be around in one way or another and they are great for graphic design not just a place for an amazing story.
The Healing Prince
The Healing Prince was the first comic book project I did and I loved it the class I did it in was one of the best courses I took while at Pikes Peak Community College.
The story is about a fictional Egyptian Prince who tends to leave the palace without Pharaoh's permission. He learns that his girlfriend has the plague that has been destroying the country but is showing signs of being sick. The Pharaoh, believing that she must be the cause orders her to be executed in the morning. To save her, the Prince must escape the palace and heal her before morning.

Acceleration
This comic idea came from one of my art classes and is just a cover design. The prompt for this project was to pick words and use them to create the illustration and I picked words that were melancholy. It was a lot of fun to be creative and do whatever I wanted with limited words.
